Interfacial Microstructure and Shear Behavior of the Copper/Q235 Steel/Copper Block Fabricated by Explosive Welding

نویسندگان

چکیده

A copper/Q235 steel/copper composite block with excellent bonding interfaces was prepared by explosive welding which a promising technique to fabricate laminates. The microstructure and mechanical properties of the were investigated via tensile-shear test, optical microscope (OM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron (SEM), back-scattered (EBSD). results showed that shear strength upper-interface lower-interfaces welded copper/steel are higher than ~235 MPa ~222 MPa, respectively. specimens failed fully within copper not at interface. It attributed to: (1) no cavities cracks interface; (2) interface formed metallurgical including numerous ultra-fine grains (UFGs) can significantly improve plastic deformation coordination inhibit generation micro-cracks.

Investigation of the effect of explosive welding variables on the corrosion behavior of the joint of two explosive layers of 5000 series copper-copper sheets

In the present study, the corrosion behavior and microstructural changes of 5000 series aluminum and copper sheets after the explosive welding process have been investigated. Explosive welding is performed with a fixed stop interval and change of explosive load. Dynamic potential polarization tests and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, light microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy we...

A new approach to predict of mechanical properties at the interface of Aluminium/Copper explosive cladding by explosive scarf welding

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to produce scarf joint through explosive welding process (EXW). The scarf weld is a process in which the final bond interface is oblique. With applying the explosive welding technique, this joint can create a metallic bond between similar or dissimilar metals. In this study, chamfered end of aluminum and copper plates were joined explosively and named scar...

Effects of Reflow Time on the Interfacial Microstructure and Shear Behavior of the SAC/FeNi-Cu Joint

Effects of reflow time on the interfacial microstructure and shear strength of the SAC/FeNi-Cu connections were investigated. It was found that the amount of Cu6Sn5 within the solder did not have a noticeable increase after a long time period of reflowing, indicating that the electro-deposited FeNi layer blocked the Cu atoms effectively into the solder area during a long period under liquid-con...
